Behaviour Modification for Adults Can Be As Effective As for Children
from:Most people that hear of behavior modification, they automatically think it's just for children with behavior problems such as ADHD children, mentally retarded children or children with some disorder. Many adults claim that their daily lives both at work and at home had improved after they began a behaviour modification for adults therapy program. Most people want to do well in life for others as well as for themselves. While it may not bad behavior that is affecting their lives negatively, it may still be inappropriate behavior. Behavior modification for adults helps the individual to see how they handle their daily lives, what the result is and what kind of changes can be made.
Some people go to counselors or therapists if they feel they need to make some changes in their lives, while others attempt to try it on their own first. Therapists can give you ideas of some behavior modification for adults they have used with some of their patients. One method that is often recommended is setting yourself goals to meet each day. Some people make a list on paper whereas others use a hand held computer to write them down. At the end of each day, they can see how many of their goals have been met.
Behavior modification for adults has been shown to help many individuals at their place of employment. Once they realized where their weaknesses were (and we all have some), they worked on improving their productivity and work morale. Many individuals have increased their salary just by improving their workplace skills by participating in behavior modification for adults.
Many of the individuals that use hand held computers or palm pilots will set alarms for themselves reminding them of something they need to do. At the end of the day, they can look at all the reminders to see how many of the tasks were completed. Setting goals for ourselves is very helpful. Some examples are coming to work on time each day. This may seem like a simple thing, but is difficult for many. Keeping the house clean may be another goal we set for ourselves. You must be realistic with your goals and not expect to change a dozen bad habits overnight. Start with the smallest goals and tasks.
Behavior modification for adults has also been used for married couples have problems. Setting goals with rewards for each other may help. The husband taking his "messy" wife out to a nice dinner if she keeps the house clean all week is the type of goal and reward system that works for many couples. The type of system each couple chooses depends on their preferences. Behaviour Modification for Adults Can Be As Effective As for Children
